{"title":"Workclamps","description":"\u003cp\u003eWorkclamp's are arguably one of the most critical components of a turret punch press.  Not only do they prevent the metal parts from being thrown across the room at high speed. They are the surface that gauges the material in the Y axis ensuring accurate parts.  Damaged, unmaintained workclamps make it impossible to safely produce quality parts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #ff2a00;\"\u003eWe are officially announcing the acquisition of Dimoco inc. long the premier workclamp manufacturer in the world.  This gives us the ability to produce Workclamp parts for all major brands IN THE US.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #ff2a00;\"\u003eWe look forward to serving customers for all brands of turret punches.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll clamp gage blocks, and bodies are precision machined to ensure matched clamps when bought in sets.  All assembly work completed on a workclamp should include removable Loctite® to ensure reliable service.  We include replacement hardware, and Loctite® with many of our parts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur replacement clamps have been designed and manufactured to exceed the functionality of the original equipment clamps.  Our clamps are produced in a precision machine shop in the US, guaranteeing consistent products.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStrippit Work Clamp Avoidance\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll Strippit machines included a decent way to detect a Workclamp and avoid it.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eHowever there are many ways to punch a Workclamp either through lack of maintenance, or operator carelessness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eMachines produced in the late 90s ( 1000\/3, 1000XT, early S machines\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis was the sloppiest time for the PUNCH ZONEconfigurations.  Strippit \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eused physical sensors, some NPN, some PNP, some NC, and some NO.  Generally they used physical sensors NPN -NC sensors however not always.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eS style manual clamps\u003c\/b\u003e.....most common cause of a punched clamp is the operator forgets to tighten the Workclamp after moving it.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eAs the machine scans the position into memory the clamp will move causing the stored position to be wrong...... Without a rescan the machine will likely punch the clamp.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eA second problem involves the scan switch or its vane on the clamp being bent.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eA quick visual check each morning, and after a crash should insure these items are undamaged.  The sensor is located in the center of the X AXIS carriage.\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\" class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eIf you don't know where that is ask your supervisor!\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  It is possible with this design for Parameters to cause the scan to fail and improperly identify clamp position.  An evaluation by a qualified service technician is required to alleviate the problem.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGlobal, M machines with MANUAL clamp movement\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe only way to punch these clamps is leaving them loose after moving them.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThe system is quite robust, and therefore a machine error allowing a clamp to be punched is very unlikely!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eGlobal machines with AUTO CLAMP POSITION\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese clamps are completely automatic and should be LEFT ALONE\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eany manual movement is dangerous, and will allow the machine to lose track of the present position of the clamps.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eAny manual movement should be followed by a RESET command before proceeding.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eDamage to these clamps is frequently caused by slamming sheets of steel into them.. When material is loaded from over an operators head onto the bed of the machine, damage to the clamp is likely.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eThe pins are very expensive.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eIf you punch a clamp on a Global machine due to carelessness the cost can exceed $4000.00.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eIf in doubt press the RESET button after all manual clamp movement.\u003c\/span\u003e  \u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eThis will force the machine to rescan the clamp prior to punching.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eH30 machines\u003c\/b\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe H30 with auto clamps is different than other auto clamp arrangements.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThe machine doesn't have positive confirmation that the locating pin that engages the rail is in position.  This can cause the clamp to move to random location without the machine having knowledge of the error.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThe ONLY reliable method of insuring you don't punch clamps on this machine is to ALWAYS press RESET after a clamp move.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThis will force the machine to verify the clamp position prior to punching.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eI highly recommend that a clamp strip is used with this machine at all times due to this design flaw.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eA daily check of pin engagement in the work clamp during relocation would reduce the chance of
